Fruit producers of the west region use technology management
One proof of the good moment in the market is the 20ª Expofruit – International Fair of Irrigated Tropical Fruit. There was more than 15 thousand visitors and estimated R$40 million in business. The event, which ends today (22), attracted thousands of visitors to Mossoró and it crowded the hotels of the city.
Producers, suppliers, and buyers are located among 300 stands and a business room set up for the event. There are still several seminars and technical lectures. Among the topics, legal security, management models and irrigation and new technologies – such as the use of photovoltaic energy in rural production.
“There are fairs with the presence of big companies, but this fair is different because it brings a picture of diversification and the strength of this market. It is not by chance that it attracts so many foreign investors, such as Canadians, Spanish, Colombians, Americans and French”, says the journalist Romar Beling, publisher of Editora Gazeta, from Rio Grande do Sul, which is specialized in agribusiness publications. He has participated in these events for 20 years.
In order to measure the importance of the sector for the local economy, the Brazilian deputy Beto Rosado (PP) stated that Petrobras, at the height of its operations in the region, employed 15,000 workers, while the agriculture employs almost triple of it. Nowadays, due to the interruption of some operations in the state, the state oil company does not hire more than 7 thousand people in the region.
One of the employees in the sector is the young lawyer Marcellus Fernandes, who has been working for seven years at Agrícola Famosa, as an attendant of Exportation. He is currently responsible for the contracts with clients around the world, in countries on Europe and the Middle East, for example.
This was his first job right out of graduation. He is specializing in the area of agribusiness Law. “I intend to stay here for a long time” he says.
