Founded in 1995, Agrícola Famosa is a Brazilian company situated on the border of Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará. During its existence, Agrícola Famosa consolidated its name in agribusiness, characterized for investing in new technologies, for persistent researches, for respecting the environment and for its social commitment.

What initially was a desire to cultivate quality and growing fruit in the midst of the Brazilian Northeast, today had become a diversified production, constant development and the expansion of markets. Ours is a story of effort and dedication, generating more than 10.000 job contracts per year and with more than 30.000 ha of land, making Agrícola Famosa the biggest producer of melon and watermelon of Brazil and one of the biggest in the world.

Infrastructure: Favorable Weather for Exportation

Water: 23 deep wells (600m to 800m) and 414 wells with a depth below 600m. Transport: Fleet of 488 light and heavy vehicles, 350 tractors, 1,843 wagons, a fleet of buses to transport employees, in addition to a garage and complete workshop for vehicle maintenance.

During harvest periods, thousands of tons of fruit are exported, mainly concentrated in the British, Dutch, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish markets. In recent years, Agrícola Famosa has established itself as the largest producer and exporter of fresh fruit in Brazil, constantly expanding its markets. In the current harvest, in addition to the markets already supplied, Agrícola Famosa is expanding its exports to Dubai, Singapore, Russia, Lithuania, the United States, Canada, among others.

With tens of thousands of productive hectares per year and employing over 9.0000 collaborators, we contribute to the social and environmental development, which is historically unfavorable in the region. Agrícola Famosa has an experienced team of agronomists and agricultural technicians responsible for the production.

Roots in the Northeast of Brazil, fruits winning the world!

AGRÍCOLA FAMOSA IS LOCATED IN THE SEMI-ARID REGION OF THE NORTHEAST OF BRAZIL. THE MAIN FARM IS SITUATED AT 70% IN THE MUNICIPIALITY OF ICAPUÍ, STATE OF CEARÁ AND 30% IN MOSSORÓ, IN THE STATE OF RIO GRANDE DO NORTE.

Its privileged location sets the company before three important production outflow corridors: just 300km from the Porto de Natal, in Rio Grande do Norte; 220km from Porto do Mucuripe, in Fortaleza, Ceará; and 250km from Porto do Pecém, the most modern industrial-port structure in the Northeast, which is located in the state of Ceará. Moreover, it’s also the nearest Brazilian port to the European continent.
The source farm occupies an area of 7 thousand hectares, of which 3 thousand are reserved exclusively for the cultivation of different varieties of melons and watermelons.
