Agrícola Famosa, the leading Brazilian fruit producer and exporter, announces to the market the merger with the Spanish company El Abuelo, a regional leader in the production and distribution of high-quality melons and watermelons.

The combined revenue of both companies reached over €230 million in 2023, representing a commercial volume of more than 320,000 tons of fruits.

This merger is part of Agrícola Famosa’s strategy to become the leading supplier of these fruit categories in Europe.

The teams of El Abuelo and Agrícola Famosa will continue to lead their respective companies, maintaining their brands, independence, and management models, and will promote operational and commercial synergies.

The agreement is subject to the fulfillment of the usual administrative and regulatory conditions and will be formalized in the coming weeks.
